Join us for an exhilarating 8-day Flower Fun Overland Adventure, an escapade we eagerly anticipate each year! Our passion for the breath-taking landscapes has drawn us back time and again, allowing us to share with you the most extraordinary vistas overlooking valleys and plains blanketed in vibrant flowers.
This year promises an exceptional blooming season, with all signs pointing to a floral spectacle unlike any we've seen in years.
Our journey begins on a Saturday in the charming town of Darling, located along the picturesque West Coast. It won't be long before we leave the smooth tarmac behind, embracing the thrill of gravel under our tires. Our route is meticulously planned to include the most renowned flower hotspots, culminating the following Sunday amidst the serene beauty of the Biedouw Valley.
Designed for the intrepid at heart, this tour ventures along less-travelled paths, including gravel roads, two-track trails, mountain passes, and sandy expanses. A 4×4 vehicle is essential for this adventure, and off-road camping trailers are welcome.
Campsites along our route are deliberately chosen for their unspoiled charm, offering a mix of rustic setups and untouched wild camps devoid of facilities. These sites are treasured destinations we've frequented over the years, and we're excited to share a few of our well-kept secrets with you.
While the tour is self-catered, we'll provide a suggested menu as the date draws near. Please come prepared with your own supply of firewood for the initial days. A stop to replenish supplies is arranged midway through our tour.

Itineraries
DAY 1 - (SAT)
DARLING - DONKIESKRAAL
We meet up in Darling in the morning and drive through some of the flower areas to our first campsite at Donkieskraal. We get to know each other around the campfire. This is the start of a great adventure!
DAY 2 - 3 (SUN - MON)
DONKIESKRAAL - NAMAQUA NATIONAL PARK
We leave Donkieskraal and explore some of the beaten track routes, and travel East towards the West Coast. We stay for 2 nights (different campsites) in the Namaqua National Park
Day 4 - (TUE)
NAMAQUA NATIONAL PARK - PEDROSKLOOF GUEST FARM
We drive some back roads to a new rustic campsite and explore one of the great Namaqualand flower areas.
DAY 5 - (WED)
PEDROSKLOOF GUEST FARM - GIFBERG
We drive through the Knersvlakte to Vanrhynsdorp for a short shopping shop and then over the scenic Gifberg pass. We camp in the Gifberg area. This will be a new experience for many. We start the next day with an amazing hike next to a crazy mountain stream (river) with many waterfalls and beautiful scenery.
DAY 6 - 7 - (THU) - (FRI)
GIFBERG - PAPKUILSFONTEIN
More unknown backroads, and we cross the Vanrhyns Pass with its incredible views. The brunch/lunch stop will be at one of the many flower reserves. We also visit the Nieuwoudtville Waterfall before we continue to our next campsite, close to the biggest Quiver Tree Forest in the world. We spent two days exploring the different flower areas, visiting some great farm stalls, and having some nice meals at one or two of the local restaurants.
DAY 8 - (Sat)
BIEDOUW VALLEY - HOME
We leave the valley after we said our goodbyes and head for home though Ceres.

- A fully serviced reliable vehicle in excellent condition.
- Enough fuel for 450km (mainly off-road)
