We are excited to take you on our fifth 8-day Flower Fun Overland Tour! We have explored these areas for many years and its stunning scenery makes us return on a regular basis. We will guide you to incredible viewpoints with views over the valleys and plains and hectares of beautiful flowers.
We can almost guarantee great flower viewing opportunities and everything points to it being one of the more spectacular flower seasons in many years.
We will meet on Saturday in Darling on the West Coast from where we will soon get our vehicles off the tar and onto gravel. The tour will take us through all the prominent flower viewing areas and ends the following Sunday in the Biedouw Valley.
We have created an off the beaten track, off-road tour on gravel, twee-spoor, mountain or sand tracks. You will need a 4×4 vehicle and the tour is suitable for off-road camping trailers.
All the campsites are rustic with one or two that are wild camps with no facilities. We have selected camp sites that we have visited many times and included some of our “secret” sites.
The tour is self-catering, but we will propose a menu closer to the time. You will need to bring your own firewood for the first few days. We will have a shopping stop about halfway through the tour to re-stock.
This is a great adventure, and we would love to share it with you!

Day 1
We meet up in Darling in the morning and drive through some of the flower areas to our first campsite at Donkieskraal. We get to know each around the campfire. This is the start of a great adventure!
Day 2&3
We leave Donkieskraal and explore all some of the beaten track routes and travel East towards the West Coast. We stay for 2 nights (different campsites) in the Namaqua National Park
Day 4
We drive some back roads to a new rustic campsite and explore one of the great Namaqualand flower areas.
Day 5
We drive through the Knersvlakte to Vanrhynsdorp for a short shopping shop and then over the scenic Gifberg pass. We camp in the Gifberg area. This will be a new experience for many. We start the next day with an amazing hike next to a crazy mountain stream (river) with many waterfalls and beautiful scenery.
Day 6&7
More unknown backroads and we cross the Vanrhyns pass with its incredible vies. The brunch/lunch stop will be at one of the many flower reserves. We also visit the Nieuwoudtville Waterfall before we continue to our next campsite close to the biggest Quiver Tree forest in the world. We spend two days and explore the different flower areas, visit some great farm stalls and have some nice meals at one or two of the local restaurants.
Day 7
We travel to the famous Biedouw Valley and setup camp at a rustic campsite. If the Doring River allows it, we will do an exciting river crossing along the way. This valley is an extremely popular area during the flower season.
Day 8
We leave the valley after we said our goodbyes and head for home though Ceres.
The tour is self-catering, but we will propose a menu closer to the time. You will also receive a detailed tour plan and itinerary with maps closer to the time.

PRICE
The tour price is R 6450 per person sharing; half-price for children under 12 and children under 6 are free (at the time of the tour). Single supplement is R 8100.Pricing for non-SADC members available on request
