We have created an off-the-beaten track, off-road tour on hidden and secret twee-spoor and other off-road tracks. You will need a 4×4 high clearance vehicle with low range and the tour is suitable for off-road camping trailers.

We will get together outside the Ramatlabama border post at a great nature reserve for our first night together and camping. I will do a vehicle and equipment check and make sure everyone’s paperwork is in order. See below for detail.

The real adventure starts; for the next 14 days we explore the heart of Africa and spend very special moments in the Game Reserves. We visit the most famous campsites and do many game game drives into the different areas.
There will be many magical moments in this magical place and something unexpected will happen every day.
Remember, the camp sites here are all unfenced, and we will have regular visits by the elephants, definitely hyenas and possibly lions and many other animals.
This might be scary for most, but always exciting; this is an adventure… (Google says: Adventure = an unusual and exciting or daring experience) We guarantee this!

The tour is self-catering, but we will propose a menu closer to the time. You will also receive a detailed tour plan and itinerary with maps closer to the time.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

  • A fully serviced reliable 4x4 vehicle with low range in a very good condition
  • Fuel range for at least 800km (mainly sandy travel, some mud and water crossings)
  • Suitable recovery gear and quality tire repair kit
  • All your drinking water, meals, drinks and snacks for at least 9 days.
  • All Camping gear
  • Fire Wood (as much as you can)
  • First Aid Kit as per your requirements
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • A passport that is valid for at least 6 months with minimum 2 blank visa pages for entry and exit stamps. Children below the age of 18 will also need valid passports, certified unabridged birth certificates and a letter of consent from the other parent should the minor be travelling with only one parent.
  • If the vehicle is your own, a certified copy of vehicle registration/vehicle licence papers is acceptable at the border posts. This must be accompanied with a letter from the bank giving you authorisation to take the vehicle across the border, and must indicate dates. Both the bank letter and copies of license papers should be signed by a Commissioner of Oaths.
  • If the vehicle is rented or not registered in your name, you will need an affidavit from the South African police giving you permission from the rental company or owner to take the vehicle across a border post. Both this letter and the registration documents need to be signed by a Commissioner of Oaths.
  • Your vehicle must have a ZA sticker, which designates that they are foreign vehicles which were registered in South Africa. AA Accredited Sales Agent stores and outdoor retailers like Safari Centre will have them available for purchase
  • Third Party Insurance valid for 90 Days
  • All Fees relative to the border crossing; Insurance, etc.
  • Comply with all Covid19 requirements at the time.
  • Please visit your doctor and discuss Malaria and recommendations regarding prophylaxis; we are visiting a Malaria area.
