You have heard of places like the Matobo NP, Chimanimani NP and Gonarezhou NP? If yes, you are ready to explore and discover some rizing stars of Southern Africa. These remote national parks hasn’t yet made it onto the travellers’ radar. But it soon will. Let’s Go

Gonarezhou National Park

MOUNTAIN DREAM RECCE

We have not visited any of these areas, but the promises are making us very ecited. I have done a lot of research, spoken to many experts and regular visitors: THIS IS GOING TO BE EPIC AND WE ARE SUPER EXCITED!
We have created a fantastic route that will take us to all the popular and famous waypoints and sites. You will need a 4×4 high clearance vehicle with low range and the tour is suitable for off-road camping trailers. We have selected camp sites that comes highly recommended and all have suitable ablution facilities.
Remember, most of the camp sites are unfenced, and we will have regular visits by the elephants, definitely hyenas and possibly lions and many other animals. The monkeys and baboons will harass us many times; this will be a great experience on its own!

This might be scary for most, but always exciting; this is an adventure… (Google says: Adventure = an unusual and exciting or daring experience) We guarantee this!

The tour is self-catering, but we will propose a menu closer to the time. You will also receive a detailed tour plan and itinerary with maps closer to the time.

WHAT DO YOU NEED?

  • A fully serviced reliable 4x4 vehicle with low range in a very good condition
  • Fuel range for at least 700km (mainly sandy travel, some mud and water crossings)
  • Suitable recovery gear and quality tire repair kit
  • All your drinking water, meals, drinks and snacks for at least 9 days.
  • All Camping gear
  • Fire Wood (as much as you can)
  • First Aid Kit as per your requirements
  • Valid Driver’s Licence
  • A passport that is valid for at least 6 months with minimum 2 blank visa pages for entry and exit stamps. Children below the age of 18 will also need valid passports, certified unabridged birth certificates and a letter of consent from the other parent should the minor be travelling with only one parent.
  • If the vehicle is your own, a certified copy of vehicle registration/vehicle licence papers is acceptable at the border posts. This must be accompanied with a letter from the bank giving you authorisation to take the vehicle across the border, and must indicate dates. Both the bank letter and copies of license papers should be signed by a Commissioner of Oaths.
  • If the vehicle is rented or not registered in your name, you will need an affidavit from the South African police giving you permission from the rental company or owner to take the vehicle across a Botswana border post. Both this letter and the registration documents need to be signed by a Commissioner of Oaths.
  • Your vehicle must have a ZA sticker, which designates that they are foreign vehicles which were registered in South Africa. AA Accredited Sales Agent stores and outdoor retailers like Safari Centre will have them available for purchase
  • All Fees relative to the border crossing; Insurance, etc.
  • Third Party Insurance valid for 90 Days
  • Comply with all Covid19 requirements at the time
  • Please visit your doctor and discuss Malaria and recommendations regarding prophylaxis; we are visiting a Malaria area.

First some business: The price is R 14 500 per person sharing; half-price for children under 12 and children under 6 are free (at the time of the tour). Single supplement is R 17 800. Pricing for non-SADC members available on request.
